IDirectFBWindow   GetSurface

Get an interface to the backing store surface.

GetSurface (
	IDirectFBWindow	*thiz
	IDirectFBSurface	**surface
);

This surface has to be flipped to make previous drawing commands visible, i.e. to repaint the windowstack for that region.
